11 bit Studios’ excellent city builder survival title, Frostpunk, is out now for PS4 and Xbox One, bringing its harsh wintery apocalypse full of tough decisions and necessary sacrifices to consoles a year after it wowed gamers on PC. A launch trailer for the console release has also been released, giving us a glimpse of the game’s world, its aesthetic, and the praise it has received since its PC launch last year. Take a look below.

When we reviewed Frostpunk last year, we gave it glowing praise, calling it “a captivating experience, whether you’re seeking an emotionally effective story or a solid city-building survival game” while noting that “each decision feels like it matters and had weight”. Suffice it to say, the game definitely is worth the price of admission, especially considering the fact that 11 bit Studios have optimized it for consoles as well.

You can get more details on the console version of Frostpunk in our interview with the developers from earlier this year through here. At last count, Frostpunk had sold 1.4 million units, but doubtless, that number is bound to go up thanks to its console launch. There’s also two more expansions coming for the game- read more on that through here.
