FUSE: 23 New Hi-Res Screenshots Depict Enemies, Explosions, Etc.

Insomniac's new third person shooter looks visually arresting, at least.

Say what you will about the art design or the number of influences Insomniac’s upcoming multi-platform shooter FUSE seems to be inspired by (which at last count included Gears of War, Area 51, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Borderlands, and much much more). But there’s no denying that the game looks quite good.

Insomniac has released 23 new high-resolution screenshots for the game, depicting several interesting details. Sure, it’s nothing we don’t already know about but damn do they look pretty. Check ’em out below.

We get close-up profiles of each of the squad members, along with the effects of some weapons and squad-based gameplay. The enemy types especially look interesting, though their abilities don’t seem to radically differ beyond jet-packs and powered suits.

The settings are especially interesting, since Overstrike Nine travels through underground laboratories, snow-covered fields, and architectural vistas in their quest to solve the mystery of FUSE and repel enemy forces looking to capture it for their own nefarious ends.
