Nintendo Switch Online

A recent leak from multiple sources claimed that Nintendo was gearing up to add a select number of Game Boy and Game Boy Color games to the Nintendo Switch Online library for the service’s subscribers, and with this newest development, it seems likelier that that could end up happening very soon.

Following in the footsteps of that recent report, Eurogamer has corroborated that information (which was originally shared by known insider NateDrake and then corroborated by Nintendo Life), saying that Game Boy and Game Boy Color games are indeed headed to Nintendo Switch Online. Eurogamer also mentions that other retro consoles are also on the cards for similar treatment, though doesn’t elaborate on what that could end up meaning.

When Nintendo might announce this expansion of the service (if it is accurate, of course) remains to be seen. Recent rumours have suggested that another Nintendo Direct is planned for some time this month, so maybe we’ll hear more about it something then. Either way, we’ll keep you updated on any new info that comes our way, so stay tuned.
