GameInformer Reveals inFamous 2 Details

GameInformer, which recently revealed the sequel to Sony’s surprise 2009 hit inFamous, has gone on to reveal some gameplay details. Apparently, the game is set in a new city New Marais, which is a fictional reimagining of New Orleans. The new, younger look for Cole seems to have a meaning as well, as this game seems to focus on Cole finding the superhero inside him, and taming the beast the first game saw. Sounds quite a lot like the newer Batman movies.

Apart from that, some other information has been confirmed as well:

– There are real cutscenes and the traditional comic strip narrative.

-You wont just jump up buildings but will construct ways to make it up buildings using objects to heighten that sense of exploration.

– There should be some new powers outside of electricity but he will still be the electric super hero.

– There are melee weapons.

It looks to be shaping up quite nicely. The first inFamous game certainly had some rough edges, and it certainly remains to be seen if the second one makes good on the promise of the first. In the meanwhile, you can watch this space for more info as it becomes available.
