Best PS3 Game

Unlike the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 had a fairly strong year when it came to exclusives. The interesting thing is, these games had a bit of a problem when it came to hype. Some of the lesser known titles came and captured us whole, heart and mind, while some of the bigger releases were good…just not great. Then there was the title that debuted a new IP and went on to become one of the greatest games of our generation. It only makes sense that we considered that game, right?

Nominees:

– Gran Turismo 6

– The Last of Us

– Beyond: Two Souls

– Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

– Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

Winner: The Last of Us

The Last of Us (1)

It’s been described as unrelenting, grim, depressing, excessively violent and also a tad bit colourless. But The Last of Us is an experience that only comes along once every few years. The journey of Joel and Ellie across post-apocalyptic United States had several stories to tell, and the universe itself is still very fresh for any sequels. Where did the Infected come from? What does the future hold for mankind? The Last of Us is one of the few games that made us ask a bunch of questions and still left us satisfied without all of the answers. If you need a reason to own a PlayStation 3 (this year, at least), then The Last of Us is it.
