Best Voice Acting

Though video games have bringing us stellar presentation and cinematic visuals for a few years now, they’ve featured amazing voice acting for far longer. This year was no different, and whether it was the hilarious antics of the lovable Third Street Saints and Marvel’s favourite Merc with a Mouth, or the grim, desperate journey of Ellie and Joel, we’ve seen some amazing performances throughout. Which one can be credited with Best Voice Acting though, especially when Batman and The Joker are two of the nominees?

Nominees:

– The Last of Us

– Grand Theft Auto V

– Batman: Arkham Origins

– Saints Row IV

– Deadpool

Winner: Grand Theft Auto V

GTA V (1)

It’s not just the loaded cast or the sheer insanity and unpredictability that Steven Ogg brings to Trevor, one of the three protagonists. Grand Theft Auto V gets the nod in several of its dialogues as well due to Rockstar North’s insistence to have actual criminals voice dialogue. But at the end of the day, it’s the unique approach that each voice actor brings to every character. Even if they annoyed, you won’t be forgetting Amanda, Lamar, Jimmy, Tracey, Anton and heaps of other characters any time soon. The three protagonists – Michael, Trevor and Franklin – also play off each other so well you’d swear the voice actors are buddies in real life. Coupled with radio talk shows, faux celebrities and believable pedestrian dialogue, GTA V is our pick for Best Voice Acting of the Year.
