Gears 5 is almost here, and it’s looking to be a shot in the arm for the franchise. We’ve seen a lot of the game so far, and today, ahead of the game’s launch, we get a special cinematic trailer that’s in line with some of the previous ones, to compliment the gameplay focused launch trailer from earlier.

The trailer is titled “The Chain”, and features the main character, Kait, riding her skiff through the desert. It’s set to the song of the same name from Fleetwood Mac, though this is a cover by Amy Lee. Kait must navigate a storm in the trailer, crashing through giant statues before coming face to face with the Swarm. It’s a lot like trailers of the past, which have used similar sober songs set to events that symbolically represents the plot.

Gears 5 will release for Xbox One and PC September 10th. To check out how high we were on the newest installment in the franchise, check out our review of the game through here.
