Gears 5 has come out, giving the series a shot in the arm that’s help revitalize it in many ways. While the single player was good, like a lot of games of this nature, it’s that sweet multiplayer that’s going to keep you coming back for more (unless you’re a quitter, then God help you). Today an update is going live that will bring back an old favorite, too.

The next update, 1.5, is seeing several new features, one of which is the return of the beloved violent execution the curb stomp. The stomp was one of the notable staples of the original games. The Coalition has promised that more old favorites will be returning in some form or fashion down the road. Other things coming with the update are bug fixes, tweaks and some new multiplayer characters that will be revealed when the update goes live. You can read full details at the game’s official blog here.

Gears 5 is available now for Xbox One and PC. Update 1.5 will go live sometime later today.
