No Gear Packs
Perhaps the biggest difference between Gears of War 4 and Gears 5 is the lack of Gear Packs in multiplayer. Items will now be direct purchases with no RNG involved. You can also purchase Hero characters separately and all post-launch DLC maps will be free with no Season Pass. Pricing for cosmetics has yet to be revealed so some skepticism is warranted but these are all positive improvements on paper.
