Gears of War 4 is only a week away from release, and fans of Microsoft’s seminal third person shooter franchise are undoubtedly itching to dive right back into the series. The best part is, those fans will be acknowledged by the game too. It appears that you will be getting some bonuses in Gears of War 4 if you have played the previous games in the franchise.

Gears of War 4 developer The Coalition revealed that as long as your GamerTag has any of the previous Gears of War games associated with it, you will receive some small, but appreciable, perks in the new game. These include an exclusive Legacy emblem titled First Wave, which will be added to your customization screen automatically if you are eligible. You will also get an Operations Pack, which contains one guaranteed customisation item and four cards of any other type, such as boosters. You will need to redeem this pack via a code that will be sent to you over Xbox Live, and which must be redeemed by December 31.

Gears of War 4 will be available on Xbox One, and on PCs running Windows 10, on October 11.
