Gears of War 4 Players Want Insane Difficulty Unlocked Right Off The Bat

Most of them, anyway.

Gears of War 4

Rod Fergusson, the head of The Coalition, who are currently hard at work on the upcoming Gears of War 4, recently held a Twitter poll- would players want Insane difficulty unlocked in the new game right away? And it seems as though most Gears players don’t want to have to wait- 63% of the 6,417 votes wanted it to be unlocked right away, with 37% saying they wanted to earn it.

Traditionally, Insane difficulty must be unlocked, so if it is available in the new game right off the bat, it would be a departure from the norm. However, the industry as a whole seems to be moving away from unlockable difficulties, instead opting to give players the chance to mold their experience upfront- so The Coalition would be keeping with trends if they did do this.

Gears of War 4 is due out exclusively on the Xbox One in October this year. No version for Windows 10 PCs has been announced yet.
