Gears of War 4 is just a week away from being available to Xbox One users but there is still a bit of a problem when it comes to getting the preload to work on Windows 10. The problems have persisted despite having downloaded the update to Windows 10 Microsoft said people should download before attempting to preload.
VG247 is reporting the download reset bug is still there. New issues have also popped up when it comes to the Gears of War 4 preload that includes preventing downloads from starting, and another that prevents them from finishing. Some users have found a work around or two.
The one workaround that seems to be working the best is to rest the windows cache. This is done by opening the start menu, typing “run” and entering “wsreset”. Once the reset has been completed, it appears people can restart the download.
Another user found that if they downloaded Gears of War 4 from the Windows 10 store, rather than automatically starting from the dashboard. No matter which workaround you use, keep in mind the download is 73GB so you are going to want to preload.
Gears of War 4 launches exclusively for the Xbox One on October 11.
