Gears of War: Judgment will feature two campaigns. The first is Judgment, focusing on the trial of Baird and Kilo Squad shortly after E-Day, and the second, Aftermath, will look at what Baird and Cole were up to during Gears of War 3.
Speaking to OXM, lead level designer Jim Brown stated that, “We wanted to do something that added context to the game, so you had that beginning part, but then this ties everything together with the main trilogy as well.
“So you’ll see when you go in there some people you recognize, some places, maybe even some enemies and then see how the two storylines weave together in the context of the whole franchise.
“Obviously we don’t want to give away too many spoilers in how it’s going to end or what you’re going to see. But the basic gist of it is that when they’re at the fort, Marcus sends Barrett and Cole off to find supplies and reinforcements, and then he goes off to Azura.
“Then at the very end they show up with helicopters. This is where they went and what they did on that mission.”
Aftermath can be unlocked when you collect stars during the single-player Judgment campaign. These stars can be earned depending on your performance, but you can also take up Declassified missions to increase the rate at which you earn stars. Keep in mind though that they’ll feature tougher challenges.
If that weren’t enough, a brand new 40 minute gameplay video of Gears of War: Judgment is also available. Check it out below.
