The Coalition also talks about keeping the nostalgia of Gears intact.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition

Creating a remaster isn’t always easy (just ask Activision with their Prototype HD bundle), but it’s even more difficult to essentially re-mold a game for current gen systems. Such is the challenge facing Gears of War: Ultimate Edition developer The Coalition as it works to keep the nostalgia of the original game while improving it.

To that end, a dev diary has been released where team members talk about keeping some of the better aspects of the original while reducing many of its negatives. The visuals have benefited the most from the remaking process. Aside from 60 FPS and a 1080p resolution, the textures and animations have been reworked significantly to look like something worthy of an Xbox One release.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition releases on August 25th 2015 for Xbox One. Will you be picking it up? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
