Gears of War Ultimate Edition Will Launch on PC After Xbox One Version Releases

No parity when it comes to release dates.

Gears of War

Microsoft announced that the Gears of War franchise would be returning to PC at E3 this year, when they confirmed that The Coalition’s remake of the original title in the franchise, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, would be launching on PC in addition to the previously announced Xbox One release. However, it does seem as though PC players won’t be getting the game right off the bat- Microsoft’s gaming head honcho Phil Spencer confirmed that the PC version of the game will be launching after the Xbox One version.

Given that The Coalition is a small team – something that they reminded us when they discussed why they only decided to remaster one game instead of doing a full fledged trilogy remaster – it does make sense for them to prioritize one version for launch first, before moving on to the other. That said, doubtless those PC players who were looking forward to this release will be disappointed.
