Ghost of Tsushima’s Visuals Double the Beauty of the Japanese Landscape, Says Sony Worldwide Studios Boss

Shuhei Yoshida is "overwhelmed" by the visual splendour of Sucker Punch's upcoming title.

Of Sony’s major upcoming first party exclusives for the PS4, Ghost of Tsushima is the one that we’ve seen the least of- but what we have seen was incredible. At E3 2018, the game amazed one and all with its beautiful visuals that impressed on both, technical and artistic fronts. And according to Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, that’s the sort of visual splendour that we should expect to see in the final product as well.

Speaking in an interview with Famitsu at TGS, Yoshida sung high praises of Ghost of Tsushima’s visuals. “Ghost of Tsushima is also amazing,” he said. “I’m overwhelmed by its graphics. When I play it, it looks so beautiful that my hands stop. It’s a game that doubles the beauty of the Japanese landscape. I’m looking forward to seeing such beautiful scenes.”

Based on the gameplay video we saw at E3 2018, I can definitely agree with that. There’s always the chance that the final product might launch with visual downgrades, but Sony’s first party exclusives have generally managed to avoid doing so, so I’m pretty optimistic about Ghost of Tsushima.

As for when it might come out, though development on the game is moving full steam ahead, there’s been no word on a release date so far. Rumours suggest it might launch in the first half of 2020, but there’s no official word. Either way, stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated in case we hear anything.
