ghost of yotei

There is a whole lot of gear to collect in Ghost of Yotei, and you will want to extract the maximum benefit out of your preferred weapons, armor, and charms by upgrading them to their fullest extent. The upgrade methods and requirements are quite distinct for each of these major groups.

This guide has everything you need to know about how to go about upgrading weapons, armor, and charms in Ghost of Yotei.

Weapons

Melee weapons are going to require specific resources to be taken to the Father’s Forge location at Atsu’s Home.

The ranged weapons can only be upgraded by Ran The Bowyer in exchange for Coin and specified resources. She can be found at either the Yotei’s Shadow Inn or more conveniently by setting up camp.

Any resources that you are lacking will have helpful hints displayed right there in the upgrade menu in order to help you locate them.

Armor

Ginji The Armorer handles all matters related to upgrading armor, and he can be found at the Yotei’s Shadow Inn, the Huranui’s Rest Inn, as well as at your camp. Armor can be upgraded to a maximum of rank four, through the expenditure of Coins and resources. Armor Dyes can also be purchased for application here.

Ginji’s initial availability is tied to encountering Taro The Scavenger.

Any resources that you are lacking will have helpful hints displayed right there in the upgrade menu in order to help you locate them.

Charms

Several of these wearable trinkets can be upgraded through three power levels for enhanced stats. Note that this has nothing to do with the distinction between minor and major charms, and some charms cannot be upgraded at all.

Upgrading the power level of charms is merely a matter of completing a handful of unique charm-related objectives.

For maximum efficiency, make use of the checkpoint saving system to quickly rush through the requirements when you find a good grinding location for these objectives. Perform the task required, then reload the last save immediately. This will preserve your charm upgrade progress, but reset the world around you, allowing you to perform the task over and over again until you have maxed out the charm’s three tiers.

That is how to upgrade weapons, armor, and charms to their maximum extent in Ghost of Yotei.
