Ghost Recon Breakpoint is something of a cautionary tale. While publisher Ubisoft has been on an amazing roll both financially and critically, the game’s performance was apparently so bad it made the company delay several major titles as well as reorganize a lot of other projects internally. It goes to show that no matter how on top a company can be, not everything is a sure thing. But to their credit, Ubisoft isn’t abandoning the game even if it seemed like a dud on the financial side, though we will have to wait just a bit longer for major updates to start.
Breakpoint has already seen several updates that’s altered some criticisms lobbed at the game. We were supposed to start seeing some more major changes starting this month, but as revealed via the official Reddit, it seems they are pushing that back into the beginning of next year.
The update was slated to have the Terminator Live Event and several bug fixes along with gameplay altercations. Now we’ll just have to wait a bit. If anyone can turn the game around, however, it’s definitely Ubisoft who has used updates effectively in the past to save games with lackluster launches such as Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor. Hopefully, the Ghosts can find some similar footing.
