SCE Santa Monica is still hard at work on the upcoming prequel-esque God of War: Ascension, but if there’s one thing we never tire of, it’s seeing the development of an ancient, beautiful creature like the Manticore which we will proceed to defile when the game releases for PS3 on March 12th.

In a new Unchained video detailing the Manticore’s flight, we go behind the scenes with designers as they go about visualizing and conceptualizing the idea of the Manticore, before finally showcasing its look for the final game. It’s quite the lengthy process to be sure, especially when you end up killing it.

Hence the “many laughs to be had” part of the headline.

Of course, the other big news is that one can earn early access to the single-player demo for God of War: Ascension. Just head here for more details on how to get in on the mystical beasts killing.
