God of War dev considering bringing the franchise to PS Vita and iOS

Sony Santa Monica’s Senior Director of Product Development Shannon Studstill told IGN that Sony has been considering bringing their premium action franchise, God of War, to their newly released handheld, PS Vita, and maybe iOS devices too.

When asked if God of War would ever make its way to the PS Vita via developers Ready at Dawn like it did for the PSP, Studstill assured that “all of that’s on the table.” However, shockingly, he even went on to say that God of War might even see the light of the day on Apple’s iOS devices. God of War: Betrayal was the first GoW game to be released on a non-Sony platform, but this would be the first major God of War release to be launched on a third party device.

“I think with the way the industry’s playing that dysfunctional passive aggressive type of mentality, we as a company and we as an industry constantly have to look at all opportunities,” said Studstill. “It doesn’t mean we’ll go there, but there’s certainly reason to talk about it.”

Rumours of God of War 4 have been running around like crazy lately. Is it conceivable that the game in development is actually a PS Vita iteration of the action franchise? Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
