God of War Director Cory Barlog’s Next Project Teased By Warcraft Movie Director

Apparently, it's going to surpass even God of War (2018).

It’s only been a few months since God of War came out, but given how excellent it was, it’s no surprise that people are already eagerly waiting for whatever it is that director Cory Barlog is working on next. And apparently, as per some vague hints at the very least, it’s going surpass even the series reboot (or “soft” reboot) that launched earlier this year.

Duncan Jones, who you may know as the director of the Warcraft film that came out a couple years ago, recently met up with Cory Barlog, and put a message on Twitter talking about the meeting. After talking about the man himself, he ended his message with a very interesting tease: “If you think that God of War is his magnum opus, just you wait,” he said.

To be honest, that’s not saying much, but it’s interesting nonetheless. God of War was a massive title of unbelievably high quality, and if the game Barlog is working on next surpasses it, it’ll be a sight to behold. Though Cory Barlog has expressed his interest in working on a new IP, it just seems a lot likelier that work on God of War 2 (or whatever it ends up being called) is underway, or will be soon enough.

Earlier this year, Sony Santa Monica were hiring for a concept artist to work on what definitely sounds like God of War, while the developers have also talked about the sequel themselves, saying that it will be bigger and better. Make sure you head on over here to read what we think God of War 2 will be about.
