#12. HADES (GOD OF WAR 3)
Taking on the lord of the underworld shouldn’t be an easy task. Thankfully, when Kratos clashes swords with Hades in God of War 3, he faces appropriately stiff challenge. The one-on-one duel lacks the over-the-top scope of some other boss fights in the game, but it’s a very well designed encounter that combines spectacle, enemy design, narrative stakes, and mechanics in an almost perfect blend. The fact that you get to use Hades’ signature weapon after killing him is also a bonus.
