God of War Ragnarok is getting a free roguelite-esque DLC in a few days’ time in the form of Valhalla, and while that was certainly the big announcement related to the game today, Sony and SIE Santa Monica Studio have also provided an update on how the game is selling.
God of War Ragnarok has sold over 15 million units worldwide across PS5 and PS4, as of November 19, as confirmed in a PlayStation Blog update. At launch, the game sold over 5.1 million units, becoming PlayStation Studios’ biggest launch ever at the time (before being upstaged by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 earlier this year), while in February, it was announced that it had sold 11 million units. Clearly, the acclaimed action-adventure title has continued to sell at an impressive rate.
In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 10/10, saying, “God of War Ragnarok surpasses its predecessor in every way. From its captivating story to its thrilling combat to the endlessly explorable and wonderfully designed Nine Realms of Norse mythology, it’s an unequivocal triumph from top to bottom.” Read the full review through here.
