2022’s final weekly retail charts for physical game sales in the UK saw God of War Ragnarok taking the pole position, and the highly-acclaimed action-adventure sequel has started the new year in much the same way. In 2023’s first physical UK charts (via GamesIndustry), it sits in the No. 1 spot, despite sales being 36% lowers than the preceding week.
Meanwhile, FIFA 23 has also held on to its spot from last week and still sits in the No. 2 position. It saw a 49% increase in sales from last week. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, meanwhile, has jumped up to No. 3, swapping places with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which drops down to fourth place.
Almost all of the rest of the top 10 is unchanged from last week, with Pokemon Violet (No. 5), Nintendo Switch Sports (No. 6), Pokemon Scarlet (no. 7), Animal Crossing: New Horizons (No. 8), and the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft (No. 9) holding on to their spots from last week. In tenth place, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe has re-entered the top 10, up from No. 16 last week.
