SIE Santa Monica are hard at work on the sequel to the 2018 God of War soft reboot, and they’ve certainly been picking up the talent from around the industry to ensure that the game lives up to its predecessor’s excellent reception. And the latest recruit they’ve added to their team actually comes to them from not that far away.
Beau Anthony Jimenez, who had previously been at Naughty Dog as a sound designer for four years, recently announced on Twitter that he’s joined the larger PlayStation team, and that the first game he’s going to be working on is God of War: Ragnarok (or whatever Sony actually ends up calling it).
At Naughty Dog, Jimenez worked on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and The Last of Us Part 2. Before that, during his one year stint at Bungie, he worked on Destiny’s Rise of Iron and The Taken King expansions, as well as Destiny 2. Additionally, he’s also worked on the likes of Ori and the Blind Forest and The Witness.
Sony has stated that the God of War sequel is due out this year. As or what platforms it will release on, they have been unwilling to comment on whether or not it will be a cross-gen release.
