The first quarter of 2022 is almost over, and already, we’ve seen a deluge of excellent games releasing this year so far, and while the next couple of months look like they’re going to be relatively quiet where big new games are concerned, we do know that there’s still plenty of stuff waiting in the wings. One of those things is God of War Ragnarok, which officially has a 2022 launch window attached to it- but with most other upcoming games, no one’s quite sure if it’s going to be able to hit that target.

Earlier this year though, journalist Jason Schreier indicated that the upcoming action-adventure sequel was unlikely to get delayed out of this year, and now, the game’s developer seems to be doubling down on that. Over on Twitter, @BlueOwlzMedic – a member of SIE Santa Monica Studio’s communications and social team – very explicitly reiterated that God of War Ragnarok is still coming out this year- so those concerned about a potential delay into 2023 can breathe easy (for now, at least).

When it was first unveiled, God of War Ragnarok was given a 2021 launch window. It was later revealed that one of the factors that had caused its delay into 2022 was the fact that Christopher Judge – the actor who plays protagonist Kratos – needed surgery. Read more on that through here.

Whenever it launches, God of War Ragnarok will be available on PS5 and PS4.
