Google’s game streaming service Stadia is now live. Premiere and Founder’s Edition owners should be able to start playing now (existing Chromecast users will have to wait for an update). In the meantime, check out the strange launch trailer that Google has put out for the service.

The basic crux is that the console is pretty much obsolete and gaming via the cloud is now. There are 22 titles currently available for the service with a few more out this year. Reviews for Stadia have ranged from mixed to average but a recent report indicated that pre-orders are below expectations and the service is slated to be a “monumental flop”.

We’ll see how this affects the platform’s success in the long run. Currently, Stadia Pro is the only way to play at $9.99 per month. A free subscription tier will be available next year as the service arrives in more territories. As always, stay tuned for more details and updates.
