It was recently reported that Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 would be the next free game on the Epic Games Store. The storefront touts a “mystery game” for its next giveaway but having it be Rockstar’s mega-hit open world title almost seems too good to be true. That is, until a Twitter ad emerged recently confirming the same.

The ad has since been deleted but Wario64 on Twitter managed to capture it. Like most free titles on the Epic Games Store, Grand Theft Auto 5 will be available free until May 21st. You’ll need an Epic Games Store account to claim it and the official launcher to install the game.

It’s still practically a steal considering the amount of content in the campaign and how many updates Grand Theft Auto Online has received since launch. Stay tuned for the official announcement later today. In the meantime, check out the latest rumors surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6, which is apparently a “medium-sized” title that will be expanded post-launch.
