And actually sold more in 2016 than 2015.

Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick shared some interesting information during the company’s recent financial report. It seems that sales of Grand Theft Auto 5 have been pretty good.

In fact, it’s sold-in more than 75 million units since launching in September 2013. The figure is all the more impressive when the publisher revealed 70 million units had been sold in November 2016.

As per Daniel Ahmad aka ZhugeEX on Twitter, “Grand Theft Auto 5 sold more units in 2016 than in 2015. A monster.”

To its credit, Rockstar Games has been extensively supporting Grand Theft Auto Online, the MMO component of GTA 5, since its launch. Tons of free content like Heists, cosmetics, weapons, vehicles and so on has been added including new ways for players to build up their criminal empire. It also helps that there are constant events, interesting new Adversary modes and whatnot.

Could Red Dead Redemption 2 overcome it with its online mode later this year? We’ll find out in the coming months so stay tuned.
