During its Q2 2017 financial earnings report, Take Two Interactive revealed that Grand Theft Auto 5 managed to sell in 70 million copies which is up from the previously reported figure of 65 million. GTA Online also continues to see success as usual.
However, what’s more interesting is the success of Mafia 3. Despite middling critical reviews and reports of launch issues, Mafia 3 managed to ship 4.5 million copies within its first week. The actual sales are up in the air but that’s still fairly good. NBA 2K17 also did well with 4.5 million copies sold since September and total shipments for games in the Civilization series has reached 37 million.
Overall, net revenue is $420.2 million, up by 21 percent over the $347 million from the same period last year. Releases like XCOM 2, NBA 2K16, Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online are some of the lead revenue drivers.
