In preparation for the release of Gravity Rush 2 next month, a new anime that bridges the gap between the first two games has been released. Gravity Rush: Overture (The Animation) can be seen on YouTube for free. It comprises of two parts for a total running time of 17 minutes.

Animated by Studio Khara, which worked on such anime as Halo Legends, Persona 4 and Rebuild of Evangelion, Overture sees protagonist Kat minding her own business when trouble strikes. Cue lots of fighting.

Gravity Rush 2 was originally set to release this year but has been delayed to January 18th 2017 to allow for more polish. It will also receive some free story DLC in March that will focus on Raven, who has a co-starring role in Gravity Rush 2 but will be fully playable in the DLC.
