Greatness Awaits: Sony Trademarks Possible PlayStation 4 Slogan

Recent developments give credence to initial reports.

Andy House, Sony president, introducing PS4
Some time ago, a trademark was discovered for something called “Greatness Awaits”. It covered services relating to consoles, software and other game-related things. This was assumed to be the marketing slogan for Sony’s PlayStation 4 console.

Now, it has been discovered that Sony has indeed trademarked the slogan. Siliconera discovered a leaked PS4 marketing advertisement which featured the phrase – and much more.

“Who are you to be a slave to the past? You who can travel time like the oceans and rewrite history with a single word? Who are you to deny greatness? If you would deny it to yourself, you deny it to the entire world.”

And no that’s not a monologue from one of Ayn Rand’s books, though honestly you could’ve fooled us.

The PlayStation 4 is currently slated to release this Holiday season, close to the end of the year, and will be launching with Watch_Dogs, Killzone: Shadow Fall and DriveClub.
