While most of the talk about Grand Theft Auto 5 these days has to do with user created mods, Rockstar is not exactly resting on its laurels when it comes to trying to keep the game fresh and new. To that end, Rockstar has announced that this weekend will be double RP. This particular event is geared towards the Prison Break heist, but players don’t need to take part in that in order to get the double reputation points (RP)

The heist, which centers around a multiplayer missions geared towards breaking Professor Maxim Rashkovsky out of Bolingbroke Penitentiary, is also giving those who carry it out successfully, double the money and RP they would normally get for this kind of job. There are other missions out there for people who have not reached the prison break heist including Distract Cops, Flight School, Gang Attack Completion and Enemy Kills and Holding up a Convenience Store.

The full list of double RP events can be found listed on the Rockstar Newswire. The new missions along with the extra RP is not the only thing Rockstar is offering up this weekend. There are also seven high-end Los Santos apartments that have been discounted by 25 percent for this weekend only.

This is actually the second weekend in a row that Rockstar is running this kind of a double RP weekend. Last week, the event was in celebration of the launch of the Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2 update. After that launch, there were reports of frame rate issues that came along with the update. Those issues were also traced to some anti-mod measures Rockstar had packed into the DLC. This weekend’s event will run through July 19.
