Guerrilla Games interested in working Further on Killzone franchise and new IP

The upcoming PS Vita exclusive Killzone Mercenary promises to continue to the franchise’s trend of developing high end games which are  stunning to look at. A few weeks back Sony had released the first trailer for Killzone Mercenary and it looks as good as the PlayStation 3 version.

Ever since that breathtaking E3 2005 trailer, Killzone has been hailed as a Halo  Killer.  But in my opinion both are very different games.

Herman Hulst, boss of Guerrilla Games had a few things to share about the future of the franchise and new intellectual properties they may be interested in working on. He believes that he would love to continue work on the Killzone franchise as well as a new IP.

“I want to do both,” Hulst said.

“Clearly, new stuff is very exciting, particularly for people that work on a franchise for a long time. A lot of technical staff don’t care so much about the project, unlike the artists and the designers, who care a lot. Of those people, there’s a big chunk that love working on the Killzone franchise, and there are also some people that are happy to experiment with new stuff,'” he said to VG247.

Obviously he does not really confirm that they are working on a new IP. It’s been long rumored that the new IP will be for the PlayStation 4.

Killzone Mercenary releases exclusively for the PS Vita this September. Are you looking forward to the game? Let us know in the comments section below.
