Guillermo del Toro Promises P.T. Is “Something Better Than Anything We’ve Done Before”

That's a bold claim.

Trust Hideo Kojima to drum up so much incredible, organically viral hype, for an upcoming game of his. The game in question is Silent Hills (better known as P.T., which was the name that its cleverly disguised interactive teaser was released on the PSN by), which was originally announced at Sony’s Gamescom presentation a few weeks ago. Yesterday, during Sony’s bombastic pre-TGS presentation, both Kojima and film maker Guillermo del Toro, who is also associated with the project, took the stage to talk up the upcoming game. And del Toro, on his part, promised the world from P.T.

He spoke about how the idea was born, and what it was like working with Kojima, praising him for his artistic vision and his inventiveness, before he boldly promised that P.T. will be unlike anything ever attempted before, and better than anything either of them have ever done before. Which, well, when you consider the stuff they’ve done? It’s a pretty ambitious claim to make.
