Arc System Works has announced an open beta for Guilty Gear Strive’s Team of 3, starting on July 25th at 7 PM PDT and ending at midnight on July 29th. It’s free for all platforms, and the entire roster is playable, including DLC characters.

PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass Core won’t be required to play online. However, a network connection is necessary for the tutorial and save data won’t transfer to the game. Only Online Match is available during the beta, with options to join teams and search for opponents, though you can also invite friends.

The developer also revealed how the 3v3 mode works. After assigning a Main player and Assists, the latter can utilize different skills depending on the Skill Gauge. They range from healing to counterattacks, knockbacks, and even throwing out an afro. Skills have cooldowns and differ from Break-Ins, special moves for each character that deal exceptional damage.

You can also tag in another player (who can accept or deny the request) and double-team an opponent together for a short period. However, Assist players can only play as the Main player once per round. All three characters share a single health bar throughout a round, so Skills, Assists, and tags are paramount.

Stay tuned for more details on Team of 3, including its release date. Guilty Gear Strive is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, and PC. Check out Season Pass 4 details here, which includes Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and newcomer Unika.
