Halo 5: Guardians

Halo 5: Guardians kicked off Microsoft’s E3 2015 media briefing in a big way. Starting off with a cinematic trailer, the showcase prepared the setting for Master Chief going AWOL. Pay close attention – you may just spot Nathan Fillion doing his thing.

This also marked the debut of gameplay footage for Halo 5: Guardians as Agent Locke and Fireteam Osiris travel to a Covenant world in search of Chief. New mechanics like the Artemis, which seems to be an inspection mechanic, have been showcased along with the four player co-op. As revealed earlier, Spartans downed in combat can revive each other.

The detail in the world is intriguing as we get a look at the real-time environmental destruction and other cinematic scenes within the gameplay. Locke’s other abilities were showcased such as the slight jetpack and the ability to sprint. At least the trusty shotgun has made a return and you’ll need it for the new enemies that must be dealt with. New enemies, including an energy crossbow of sorts have been revealed.

Halo 5: Guardians is out on October 27th for the Xbox One. Thoughts on the gameplay footage? Let us know in the comments.
