Halo 5 Not Releasing On Xbox One in September, Rumor Debunked

Mistranslated press releases strike again.

Last week, it was announced through Famitsu that the Xbox One would release in Japan on September 4th. A list of confirmed titles that would be launching for the console was revealed and what else should be there but Halo and Sunset Overdrive?

Of course, translation errors do happen. The press release itself states that both games will be launched on the Xbox One in Japan. This is the equivalent of confirming their release in Japan, not that they would be launching alongside the console. It felt more than a bit odd at first that Microsoft would confirm the release of both games for Japan, especially with Halo since little to no information has been provided on the game since its reveal at E3 2013.

Regardless, you can look forward to several first and third party titles for the console when it’s out in Japan later this year. Just know that Halo and Sunset Overdrive aren’t included. In the mean time you can read on how Halo 5 could use the so called power of the cloud over here.

Thanks, DualShockers.
