The Creative Assembly will get to have a crack at the Halo universe next year, when Halo Wars 2, the sequel to the popular real time strategy game spin off to the Halo franchise that launched on Xbox 360 in 2008, releases. Microsoft announced Halo Wars 2 will be launching on Xbox One and PC in 2016, and that The Creative Assembly will indeed be developing it.

Take a look at the footage for yourself below- it looks pretty cool. Also, it appears as though Forge from the original game is still alive and kicking, so it should be interesting to see how that factors into the game’s story.

Halo Wars 2 will be releasing in 2016- it will be coming on Windows 10 PCs and Microsoft’s own Xbox One. Personally, as someone who loves RTSs, and who liked the original Halo Wars a lot too, I’m pretty interested to see how the new one turns out, particularly since Ensemble won’t be heading this one.
