343 Industries’ Dan Ayoub has announced in a new tweet that Halo Wars 2 has gone gold. This means that principle development on the game is done and it’s now ready for disc manufacturing and digital distribution prepping.

To entice those who have never tried Halo Wars before, the second Halo Wars 2 beta will begin on January 20th, Friday on Xbox One and PC. The beta will be available till January 30th and is open to all players. Blitz Mode, which features new card-based mechanics, will be available to try out along with a single map. Pretty much all the cards will be available for testing out.

Halo Wars 2 meanwhile releases on February 21st for Xbox One and Windows 10. It supports Xbox Anywhere so you can purchase the digital version on one platform and have access to it on another (there will be no cross-platform multiplayer however). Also, if you purchase the Ultimate Edition, you can start playing the game on February 17th.
