Say what you will about Halo but holy moly is Blur great at CG cutscenes as the launch trailer for Halo Wars 2 exemplifies. Check it out below.

Taking place several years after the first game, the crew of UNSC Spirit of Fire awaken out of cryo-sleep to do battle against the Banished, an ex-Covenant faction led by the terrifying Atriox, on Installation-00 aka The Ark.

This isn’t a first person shooter. You’ll command armies from up high and leading your units to victory. The odds aren’t quite in your favour but hey, family and all that jazz.

Halo Wars 2 will be out on February 21st for Xbox One and Windows 10 though Ultimate Edition owners can start playing on February 17th thanks to early access. Despite the lack of cross-platform play, the game does support Xbox Play Anywhere. Purchase a digital copy on one platform and you receive it for free on the other.

What are your thoughts on the launch trailer? Let us know in the comments.
