Take Two Interactive has announced that WWE 2K14, the next game in the WWE franchise, will be releasing on October 29th for Xbox 360 and PS3. While developed by Yuke’s, Visual Concepts (who’ve worked on the NBA 2K series) will also be involved.

After since THQ went bankrupt, there were concerns over the future of its franchises. One of those was the WWE series, developed by Yuke’s, but given the popularity of the games – and the fact that Vince McMahon knows it – it was always a given that a new deal would be drawn up.

Take Two Interactive would acquire the right for the franchise, under the 2K Sports label, and Yuke’s currently has a multi-year licensing deal to continue developing games in the series.

Dropping the Smackdown vs Raw label since WWE 12’s release, WWE2K14 is expected to include current and past superstars from the sports entertainment organization along with modifications to its Predator Technology.
