Hideo Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions are hard at work on their next game, and it seems the time for that game to be revealed might not be too far off. A recent tease at Tokyo Game Show 2022 has very much put Kojima firmly back into the headlines (not that he’s ever out of them for too long), and according to an insider that’s recently risen to prominence, we’ll be hearing more about the studio’s next project soon.
@TheRealInsider over on Twitter has accurately leaked a number of major reveals and updates in recent days, from Ubisoft’s litany of Assassin’s Creed announcements to the new God of War Ragnarok trailer. They recently took to Twitter and posted a tweet containing only an image of Hideo Kojima and The Game Awards host, creator, and producer Geoff Keighley on-stage, suggesting that Kojima’s next project is likely to get revealed at The Game Awards 2022. The event if set for December 8.
As for what the reveal will be for, that remains to be seen. Kojima Productions is working on an Xbox-exclusive cloud-native title – which, according to some reports, is the leaked horror title Overdose – while it also seems like a Death Stranding sequel is in the works.
Of course, as is the case with any leak (especially one that’s admittedly as vague as this one is), it’s best to keep your expectations in check. That said, it’ll probably be worth keeping an eye on Kojima Productions in the coming weeks and months.
