IO Interactive will be putting out a sequel to the fan favorite and hugely successful reboot of their long running Hitman franchise later this year. Unlike the reboot, the new game won’t be episodic, and will be released in one go- but that is the only change that should be worrying you as a fan of the original game. It seems like the superlative stealth gameplay and emergent possibilities that made it so good, and so successful to begin with, will all be in this game intact.
Don’t believe me? Well, this 34 minute video of the game, which is a walkthrough of it from E3, should probably help change your mind. It shows that the game is every bit the stealth masterpiece that its predecessor was- hopefully the game keeps up this level of accomplished design through its entire length.
Hitman 2 will launch on 13 November this year. It will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
