Hitman 2’s First Elusive Target Tasks You With Taking Down Sean Bean

Can you believe they’re going to kill Boromir again?

The meme goes that Sean Bean always dies. And it’s true—most of his famous roles always involve him dying, often in spectacularly gruesome ways. It doesn’t matter whether he plays the good guy or the bad guy, odds are that if he is playing a character, that character is fated to die.

That in joke has been taken to its logical conclusion, because the first Elusive Target that you will take down in the upcoming Hitman 2 will be none other than Sean Bean. IO Interactive even put out a fantastic trailer showing off Sean Bean talking about how he has a “gift” for not dying, regardless of everything that has been thrown his way, making the joke even more hilariously meta.

So now you get to try to kill him. Elusive Targets, for those of you who don’t remember from the 2016 Hitman, or who simply didn’t play it, are timed targets that don’t show up on the map, and whom you only get one shot at—succeed or fail, they’re never going to be available for you to take down again.

I really don’t know how they’ll top this one off, though. This is truly something else. Hitman 2 launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 9.
