It’s been quite some time since WB Games first unveiled Hogwarts Legacy, and it’s been made to seem even longer by the fact that since that announcement, there have been next to no updates on the game, barring a delay. Recently, however, rumours and leaks have strongly suggested that we’d soon be getting a long overdue update for the game- which, as it turns out, is accurate.
Sony has announced that the Avalanche Studios-developed action RPG will be the focus of a new State of Play broadcast that’s been set for this Thursday, March 17, at 2 PM PT. In a PlayStation Blog post, Avalanche community manager Chandler Wood confirms that it’ll be a 20 minute-long show, featuring over 14 minutes of gameplay footage captured on a PS5, followed by “some insight from a few members of the team at Avalanche Software.”
Whether or not a release date for Hogwarts Legacy is also confirmed remains to be seen, but given the fact that Warner Bros. has re-iterated time and time again that the game is releasing in 2022, we’d be surprised if at least a narrower release window wasn’t announced. Leaks have suggested multiple times that the game will launch in September.
Whenever it launches, Hogwarts Legacy will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
