While WB Games will have a new home at Netflix, one of its premiere titles, Avalanche Software’s Hogwarts Legacy, has reached a new sales milestone. As announced in a new tweet, the action RPG has sold over 40 million units since launching in February 2023.

Available for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, its last official milestone was over 30 million sold as of November 2024. The Switch 2 version likely helped bolster sales. Check out our review for it here.

As for the future, Warner Bros. confirmed a sequel last year, touting it as “one of the biggest properties” for the company. However, it’s arriving “a couple of years” down the line with no details on its premise, platforms or gameplay improvements.

Avalanche Software was allegedly working on a Definitive Edition and expansion for Hogwarts Legacy as of February 2025. They would reportedly face cancellation in late March following concerns that the new content wasn’t “substantial enough” for the targeted price.
