Hogwarts Legacy Won’t Support Cross-Platform Saves

Save data can't be transferred between platforms. The game offers four character slots, each with multiple auto and manual save slots.

WB Games recently revealed all the accessibility features coming to Hogwarts Legacy, including colorblind modes, text-to-speech and settings for motion blur, film grain, and chromatic aberration. It also confirmed both manual and auto saves. However, in some tweets, WB Games Support revealed four separate slots.

This means that families playing on the same profile can have separate characters. It also confirmed that each character would have five auto save and ten manual save slots. Unfortunately, the save data will remain on the platform one is playing on. Cross-platform saves aren’t supported.

“You will be able to link both platforms for rewards in each version of the game, but save data will stay on the platform it was created on.” It doesn’t seem like a big deal, but those playing on Xbox One or PS4 and wanting to transfer their saves to the Xbox Series X/S or PS5 versions are out of luck.

Hogwarts Legacy is out on February 10th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, followed by the PS4 and Xbox One versions on April 4th and the Nintendo Switch version on July 25th.
