Ubisoft teased their new upcoming competitive shooter Hyper Scape earlier this month (following leaks, which almost goes without saying for most Ubisoft games these days), and had confirmed that an open beta for the free-to-play battle royale FPS would be coming some time this year.

Now, during their E3-style Ubisoft Forward digital showcase, they have announced that the Hyper Scape open beta is now available on PC for free, for everyone, as leaks had suggested would happen. The beta’s release announcement came with a new gameplay trailer, which you can check out below.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft also showed off a new cinematic trailer which properly explains the central narrative premise and setting of Hyper Scape. Taking place in an idyllic virtual city called Neo-Arcadia in the midst of a dystopian near-future world, it’s certainly got some interesting stuff going on. Take a look below.

Hyper Scape’s PS4 and Xbox One versions have been announced, but no specific release date is confirmed for them yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
