Hyrule Warriors Trailer Sees Sheik Going Full Shinobi

Sort of.

We’ve been waiting to see what Sheik can do when it was announced that she would be in Hyrule Warriors. The shinobi-esque Sheikah displayed some amazing moves when she fought in Super Smash Bros. but what is she like in a hack and slash action adventure? The latest character trailer from Nintendo is in and the results are…somewhat mixed.

Instead of focusing too much on Sheik’s quickness and swift strikes, a lot of her attacks seem to rely on the magical harp she carries with her. This allows you to unleash various elemental spells like lava explosions, typhoons and even surround Sheik with a force field of gale winds. The problem? It also looks terribly rote, especially compared to some of the other characters showcased thus far.

But hey, it’s not Agitha. So that’s a plus.

Hyrule Warriors releases this August for the Wii U in Japan and will be out in North America and Europe in September. Stay tuned for more details.
